Goodbye Gordon?

Anyone else think that 'Vote for Change - Vote Conservative' looks kind of contradictory? But here in the UK it's an election full of surprises. As outsiders looking in it seems like...
* Gordon Brown is heading for the door. Barring an incredible turnaround of undecided voters, today is his last day as PM.
* Nick Clegg, an absolute outsider, raced up the opinion polls after the first election debate. He's youthful, he's trying to channel the spirit of Obama, but it seems like his campaign became repetitive. It was all about 'not being like the other guys.'
* The immigration debate is interesting. As the UK is part of the common European economy, anyone from anywhere in Europe is now entitled to work here freely. That's not counted as 'immigration.' But that's where people are pouring in from. Any debate about curbing immigration is only talking about the 8% or so who want to come in from elsewhere... like Australia, for instance. Nobody in the third debate wanted to be clear about this.
* Voting is not compulsory here. Only 60% or so turn out.
* Voting is on a weekday. Today, Thursday. Maybe that explains the low turnout?
* Looks like The Conservative's Mr Cameron is headed for No 10. Unless, of course, it's a hung parliament.

Should be an interesting day!
